Steady-State Thermal Modeling of Salient Pole Synchronous Generator

چکیده

This paper presents a practical thermal model of synchronous generator for high-power applications. couples the lumped parameter network and coolant together to utilize impact coolant’s temperature rising over machine. Furthermore, advanced multi-planes technique provides more precise higher resolution distribution various machine sections. Therefore, machines are divided into five planes; three belong active part, two added machine’s drive non-drive end-regions. pays special attention describing challenges providing solutions them during heat transfer modeling analysis. Finally, analytical is verified using experimental results on with salient pole rotor an open self-ventilation (OSV) cooling system by comparing results. As result, good correspondence between estimated measurement achieved.
